South Africa Police watchdog has launched an inquiry after a disturbing video, taken by a passer by surfaced showing South Africa police officers tying a man to police van in front of a crowd. The amateur video shows the level of brutality with which the South Africa police dealt with the man, who Is believed to have been a taxi driver. The man who is believed to be from Mozambique was later found dead in a police cell in Daveyton, Johannesburg.
The video footage contradicts the version put forward by the South African police which suggests that the man was merely put in a taxi to be driven to the police station.
