As African economies experience significant growth it has become more and more imperative for African entrepreneurs to connect more effectively with organisations that will guide them and propell them into perhaps the Dangotes of this world. One such organisation that is providing a much needed platform for the connection of entrpreneurs and investors is Venture Capital for Africa (VC4Africa.com).
VC4Africa in their own words “exists to support entrepreneurs – whether it’s about improving the formulation of an idea, gaining some media exposure, making a meaningful connection, establishing a joint venture or securing an investment. Anything that helps the entrepreneur realize their potential.”
The organisation has a plethora of inspiring ideas and interviews of some of Africa’s most promising entrepreneurs. There is also a useful list of uploaded briefs on ventures and some positive comments on these that should get even the least business minded amongst us tapping into our hidden talents and getting our creative juices flowing.
As one entrepreneaur, Tiyab Konlambigue, the founder of Nomad and an online member of VC4Africa stated in an an interview “VC4Africa is a key to the success for African startups. It gives us visibility and an exchange center ‘startup to startup’ and ‘startup to investors’. We are seeking investors, startups, companies or people we could share experiences and opinions with. We want to share our knowledge and work with other people on several development projects.”

The site also has an inspiring video of Dr. Moyo, who was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME Magazine in 2009. For those who are not familiar with Dr. Moyo, she is an ardent advocate of focusing on business rather than aid as a trigger for further economic growth across Africa.
