Scientist and author Michael Tellinger rather convincingly talks us through and shows us what he thinks is the best piece of evidence that giants once inhabited this earth. The huge footprint was discovered in South Africa, near the town of Mpaluzi, close to the Swaziland border. It is estimated to be between 200 million and 3 billion years old and is imprinted in rough granite and is about 4 feet long.
Michael Tellinger (if you have read his books) often sees things from a religious stand point so it is not a surprise that this “discovery” is being called the “Footprint of God”.
Apparently the find is somehow connected with the Bible quote “There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.”~ King James Bible.
Others share a different point of view. They claim the “footprint” was caused by erosion pointing out that for the foot to make a print in this type of rock ie granite in this case the rock would have been very hot and soft.
Whether or not this footprint can be explained Biblically or by other means is neither here nor there. I suspect God can be found a bit more easily than treking to South Africa to see a footprint, but hey that’s just me. This is a fascinating story though and certainly one that would make for interesting conversations.
