Documentary Project: Moving Windmills – The William Kamkwamba Story

“Moving Windmills” is a feature-length documentary that has just been funded through the Kickstarter funding scheme to a tune of $100,000. The video below is a pre-view of the documentary. It tells the true story of William Kamkwamba, a young innovator from Malawi, Africa who taught himself to generate electricity by building a windmill from found materials and scrap parts. You may know him from his TED talk a few years ago “The Boy who Harnessed the Wind .” The documentary tracks William Kamkwamba from his early days to his present life. William Kamkwamba’s story was certainly one of the most inspirational to come out of Malawi and Africa in the last few years.
