IMF Report: Regional Economic Outlook for Sub-Saharan Africa Looks Good

The International Monetary Fund today reported that sub-saharan Africa will continue to see 2011 economic growth at about 5% on the back of increases in the demand for raw materials amongst other things. The outlook for next year even looks better. However, the report did warn that famine in certain parts of Africa and a slow down in the economies of the West and more advanced economies could have a detrimental effect on next year’s growth prospects.
