Africa Fashion Week London lights up the run way

Myweku.com had the pleasure of attending Africa Fashion Week London earlier today.

Our very own Fashion and Lifestyle editor Ada Iwugo, supported by one of our favourite freelance journalists and a professional photographer ventured over to Liverpool, Street London to see what all the hype was about.

Well take it from me, we were not disappointed. Despite a slightly traumatic reception, the event delivered everything it promised and more. From the beautiful handmade accessories and unique couture pieces from stalls like AfroFusion Designs, Prima Rouge and J J Arte & Crafte of Africa to the amazingly spectacular Gala show, which featured designers like Frank Oshode of House of Bunor and Bebegrafiti it was by all accounts a brilliant event.

The night is still not over as the after party kicks off at Abacus bar, but I thought I’d give our readers a taste of the eye candy we experienced from the front row of the Gala show.

This is just the tip of the iceberg; we’ll be back with lots more pictures, features on all the designers at the Gala show, and an interview with the brains behind the event.

Put on your seatbelts people because African fashion is ready for take off!
