Diana Bada: Keeping it real
Diana Bada is a Nigerian “Afro-Soul” musician born in Moscow. Freewheeling, like Erykah Badu or her compatriot Nneka, she is bound to light things up in the Afro-soul world and beyond. Her vocal-driven songs have an irresistible egde to them with authentically African and slighly unusual themes to them.
Don’t expect to see hear any lyrics about loading up on rosé, cognac, champaign (ok maybe small chops) or drunk-dials to misbehaving ex-whatnots. This is a refreshing artist who seems to go against the grain and the excessively “commercial” music every every “pretender” churns out these days.
The video below is Diana Bada’s debut the track “Fun Day”. It’s real and one of the most authentic portrayal of a typical African suburb i’ve seen in a music video in a while.
