Documentary on Azumah Nelson coming out soon!

Boxing and fight fans around the world know about the exploits of Azumah Nelson, the first African inductee to the International Boxing Hall of Fame and arguably the best pound for pound fighter to have come out of Africa.

A new documentary, on Azumah Nelson, written and produced by Sam Afua Kessie, a writer and director is slated for release soon. According to Sam A Kessie, the documentary will “follow the humble story of a man who believed in himself and became the Terrible Warrior, and arguably the greatest boxer to come out of Africa. With highlights of rare footage and interviews from Azumah and many others, this is the true testament of the legend’s career”

The Azumah Nelson Foundation, a 23 million dollar project “aimed at providing social services to the poor and needy through the use of sports and education” and Geodrill sponsored the documentary. At a recent launch of the Foundation, “Zum Zum” Nelson (as he is affectionately known) said this about his Foundation “It is the most important moment in my life, because it has taken me years to reach this stage”

Azumah has and continues to dedicate his life for the betterment of others. Kudos to Sam A Kessie and others for their foresight in making this documentary and in playing a part in ensuring that Zum Zum will never be forgotten!
