On the 6th of February 2010 in London (UK), a group of professionals will be raising awareness for the need to aid and support the people of Haiti. The group will be donating their expertise by offering pre-booked professional photoshoot sessions, where Contemporary Photography + Superb Makeup Artistry = Amazing Images of you or your family whilst supporting HAITI.
Photographers including Ade Okelarin, Jide Alakija and Trey Mujakporue whilst makeup artists including Becks Buki, Bolanle Okusanya Feyita, Queen A and Juliet Esiri.
Bolanle Okusanya, a prominent Makeup artist and a presenter of “Every Woman’s World” a Nigerian Television programme stated that “I believe that there is something everyone can do to help.The people of Haiti need aid, money and above all the understanding that the world has not forgotten them”
The world awoke a few days ago to the aftermath of what seems to have been caused by the anger of a very angry beast.
What the world heard about were stories of how the earth rumbled, how people scattered, how those who were trapped died slowly, helplessly and painfully. Amidst all this carnage and horror, exploitation of the vulnerable – CHILDREN – was not spared!
Some without guardians were trafficked across borders, left to fend for themselves and left to deal with the shock of their shattered innocent worlds alone! Playing in the streets, going to school in their starched uniforms, smiling and laughing have been cruelly snatched away from them.
The pains and horrors will not remain with these children forever, if the beauty and unyielding ways of selfless individuals shine a light through what may look like a future obscured by dust and darkness.
Whether adapting already scheduled events or hurriedly throwing together an event, a show or fund raiser, every one from leaders to artists, house wives to students, all of us can make a difference by acting quickly to play our part in supporting the children of Haiti!
It’s not about the money but about raising awareness for the need to aid those in Haiti. Many of us can give a lot more than just money. They will appreciate anything that you can give to show your support for this cause.
All funds collected will go to support the children in Haiti via the charity Compassion (reg charity no 1077216).
